Report Says San Francisco Giants Will Do ‘Whatever It Takes’ To Land Aaron Judge

For months, free agency rumors have swirled around New York Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge. In June, Aaron Judge turned down a contract reportedly worth over $200 million from the Yankees, paving the way for him to become a free agent this offseason.
NewJersey.com’s Randy Miller is the latest to add fuel to the rumor fire of Judge returning to Northern California and play for the team he grew up rooting for. In his latest report, Miller said he was told the San Francisco Giants “won’t be underbid.”
The Giants have targeted Judge and are prepared to spend whatever it takes, a person with knowledge of the Giants’ thinking told NJ Advance Media after meeting with members of the franchise’s ownership group. The person, who isn’t authorized to speak on behalf of the team, was granted anonymity.
Along with breaking the bank for Judge, the Giants also plan, according to Miller, to sign “at least two-high priced free agents.”
“The Giants are not going to stop with Judge,” Miller’s source said. “They have so much money freed up.”
The oddsmakers at PointsBet also predict the San Francisco Giants have the best chance to land the Yankees slugger. They excluded the New York Yankees in their odds. Two of the top three teams are in California:

For the first time in franchise history, the Giants ended the 2022 season with a .500 record. By going after Judge and more potential free agents, the team will hope to make a run back to the postseason in 2023.
