After a week of no practice, the 49ers will be without another playmaker this week as wide receiver Deebo Samuel is officially out for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Samuel, 26, has been dealing with a hamstring injury sustained during Week 7’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Able to get through the remainder of the game, the wideout cited the injury upon returning to the team’s facilities Monday.

Unable to practice in any capacity this week, his status for Week 8 was officially confirmed Friday. The 49ers hope to get Samuel back after the team’s Bye Week, but a timetable remains unclear at this point in time.

“Not a precaution. He’s not good enough to go,” head coach Kyle Shanahan said Friday. “The fact he even had a chance, hopefully he’ll be good with a week off and be ready for the next game.”

Joining Samuel is linebacker Dre Greenlaw (calf), fullback Kyle Juszczyk (finger), and defensive tackle Arik Armstead (foot/ankle). All four players were unable to practice this week, indicating that they will need the bye to get right before returning to the field.

WR Jauan Jennings and cornerback Jason Verrett are both listed as questionable for Sunday. The former is dealing with a similar hamstring issue to Samuel, able to practice off to the side of the field the past two days.

Meanwhile, the latter has been working his way back from an ACL tear last season, officially coming off the PUP list Wednesday. Mainly working in a limited fashion, Shanahan noted that the team could work the cover-man into the team gradually this week.

“If we feel good about Verrett, whether he’s out there starting or whether he’s out there getting 10 to 15 plays, I think that’s something that would help our team,” Shanahan added.
