The San Francisco 49ers have needed to add offensive line depth since the start of free agency, finally doing so with offensive lineman Jon Feliciano Monday.

Reports emerged Monday afternoon that the 49ers and Feliciano had come to terms on a one-year deal, confirmed by multiple sources. The figures in the deal have not been disclosed at this time.

New York Giants’ beat writer Kim Jones was first with the news.

Jon Feliciano, 31, was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL draft, playing four seasons with the Silver & Black. Spending the last few years with the Buffalo Bills and New York Giants, he will likely be seen as a depth signing with the 49ers.

After losing OL Daniel Brunskill to the Tennessee Titans, San Francisco was light in the offensive trenches. This signing fixes that, snagging a veteran who can play all five positions on the offensive line. Featured primarily at the center and guard positions with the Giants, Feliciano will help nurture the 49ers’ young core while also providing competition for snaps. He also finished with a 97.6 pass-blocking efficiency rating, per Pro Football Focus.

Playing about 1,000 snaps for New York last season, the Red & Gold may have just made a sneaky good signing at great positional value.
