Before he signed with the Las Vegas Raiders, wide receiver Jakobi Meyers had a memorable moment at Allegiant Stadium.

The finish in the Raiders’ 30-24 win over the New England Patriots might have been the craziest ending all last season. On the final play of regulation, the Patriots handed the ball off to running back Rhamondre Stevenson. As he was about to be tackled, he lateraled the ball to Meyers, who then tried to lateral to quarterback Mac Jones. However, defensive end Chandler Jones picked off the pitch and ran the ball into the endzone, securing the win for the Raiders.

At his introductory press conference, Meyers was asked about that play.

“I was waiting on it,” Meyers exclaimed, thanking the reporter who asked the question. “I appreciate you man!”

So, what happened?

“I don’t know. That’s the truth, I really don’t know,” Meyers said. “I had the ball then I didn’t have the ball, that was the end of it.”

While he may not know what happened, he talked about how he grew as a player and as a person.

“Family is really big for me. So, when I went through it in the moment my heart was broken, but days after just seeing how guys kind of rallied around me, it built me up as a person,” Meyers said. “So, now I know whenever one of my teammates messes up, who I want to be in that situation, like how I want to help them, what type of love, what type of support I want to give.”
