The finish to Sunday’s game between the Las Vegas Raiders and New England Patriots might have been the craziest ending all football weekend, and that’s telling something considering the Minnesota Vikings were down 33-0 at halftime and came back to win 39-36.
On the final play of regulation, the Patriots handed the ball off to running back Rhamondre Stevenson. As he was about to be tackled, he lateraled the ball to wide receiver Jakobi Meyers, who then tried to lateral to quarterback Mac Jones. However, defensive end Chandler Jones picks off the pitch and runs the ball into the endzone, securing the 30-24 win for the Raiders.
After the game, Stevenson took responsibility for the team’s loss.
“If I didn’t pitch it back to him, Jakobi wouldn’t have had the chance to do that. So, I take full responsibility for that, for the play. I just gotta know the situation. Just gotta know what’s going on in the game,” Stevenson said, adding he’s supposed to know the situation.

Across The AFC West
The Kansas City Chiefs locked up the title of AFC West champions with their win Sunday over the Houston Texans. This is the seventh straight division title for the Chiefs. The Denver Broncos officially knocked the Arizona Cardinals out of the playoffs with their 24-15 win Sunday. And Justin Herbert led a game-winning drive against the Titans to hold out hope for a playoff appearance for the Chargers.
Who’s Next For The Raiders?
The Black and Silver have a quicker-than-normal turnaround, facing off against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Eve. When the two teams face off, it’ll be on the 50th anniversary of the immaculate reception.
“Look, every week is hard in our league, as you guys know,” Raiders coach Josh McDaniels said. “And Pittsburgh, obviously Mike [Tomlin] does a tremendous job, and this is going to be a huge challenge for us on the shorter week to go there. So, we will not count this towards any points on the scoreboard for next week. We got to go back to work and get ourselves ready to go and try to win a tough football game on the road against a tough football team.”
