Only one baseball player between the Oakland A’s and San Francisco Giants enters 2023 as one of the best in the game.

Logan Webb, pitcher for the San Francisco Giants, made ESPN’s MLB Rank list of the top 100 players heading into the regular season. No members of the Oakland A’s made the list.

Webb ranks 71st overall on the list and 23rd among pitchers. ESPN MLB expert Dave Schoenfield predicts not much will change from last season.

“He’s had two back-to-back excellent seasons, and while I’m a little worried about the Giants’ defense at second base without the shift, I’m looking for an ERA around 3.00 with close to 200 innings once again.”

The 26-year-old Rocklin native pitched a 2.9 ERA, got 163 strikeouts and finished with a 3.03 FIP in 2022. He finished with a 15-9 record.

The top five include two members of the Los Angeles Angels — Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout, respectively— and one player who was almost a Giant, Aaron Judge.
