Another former New England Patriot is joining Josh McDaniels in the desert.

Former wide receiver Danny Amendola has joined the Las Vegas Raiders’ coaching staff as a coaching assistant/returners. According to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, the former Patriots receiver will assist wide receivers coach Edgar Bennett.

Amendola is the latest in an offseason filled with former Patriots who have joined the Raiders, including new quarterbacks Jimmy Garoppolo and Brian Hoyer.

From 2013-17, McDaniels and Amendola earned two Super Bowl titles together in New England. Lining up primarily as a slot receiver, Danny Amendola played in 69 games for the Patriots, recording 2,383 yards and 12 touchdowns on 230 receptions.

He retired from football in 2021 after one year with the Houston Texans after bouncing around the league following his departure from New England. Drafted in 2009 by the then-St. Louis Rams, Amendola led the league in kick returns and yardage. In his career, he’s returned nearly 200 punts for just over 1,800 yards and over 150 kickoffs for nearly 3,600 yards.
