Draymond Green has finally shared his thoughts on his suspension in the podcast we’ve all been waiting for.

The NBA suspended Green for one game following an ejection from Game 2 after the Warriors star stomped on the chest on Kings center Domantas Sabonis.

In the league’s statement announcing the suspension, they cited that the suspension “was based in part on Green’s history of unsportsmanlike acts.” NBA executive vice president Joe Dumars told ESPN in an interview the suspension came down to “excessive and over-the-top actions, conduct detrimental and a repeat offender. That’s what separates this where you end up with a suspension.”

On Friday, Green spoke about the incident with Sabonis for the first time on the latest episode of The Draymond Green Show. He dove into the topic at the top of his show.

“I never knew you could be suspended for a flagrant 2 that happened seven years ago. I also didn’t know you could get suspended for interacting with a crowd that’s flipping you double birds and yelling your name and chants that ‘you suck’ and you interact with them, I didn’t know that either!”

Green does not address stepping on the chest of Sabonis, the actual reason for his suspension.

In the fourth quarter of the Kings’ 114-106 win over the Warriors, Sabonis attempted to grab a rebound, but he fell. While on the ground, he grabbed Green’s foot. After getting his foot free, Green stomped on Sabonis’ chest. As the referees reviewed the play, Green riled up the Sacramento crowd yelling with fans behind the Warriors bench.

Draymond Green is expected to return to the starting lineup for Game 4 between the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors.
