Chandler Jones #55 of the Las Vegas Raiders sacks Davis Mills #10 of the Houston Texans in the second quarter at Allegiant Stadium on October 23, 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

During a busy NFL Draft weekend, the Las Vegas Raiders worked to create more cap space for the 2023 season.

According to ESPN’s Field Yates, Chandler Jones and the Raiders worked together to restructure the defender’s contract.

The Raiders restructured the contract of OLB Chandler Jones, creating $5.068M in cap space.

Jones had his ups and downs in his first year with Las Vegas. After a slow start to the season, Jones was named the AFC’s Defensive Player of the Week in Week 13 when he recorded six tackles, three sacks and one pass defended against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Before he was shut down for the season with an elbow injury, the defensive end recorded 3 passes defended, 4.5 sacks, 38 combined tackles, three fumble recoveries, and one memorable touchdown.

In the 2022 offseason, Chandler Jones signed a three-year deal worth $52.5 million, with $34 million of that guaranteed. The 33-year-old rusher is set to compete for playing time against rookie first-rounder Tyree Wilson.
