The Seattle Seahawks are bringing back backup quarterback Austin Davis, but according to Bleacher Report, the Seahawks will not rule out the idea of signing former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

NFL Network reporter Mike Garafolo tweeted;

“The Seahawks are re-signing QB Austin Davis, source says. He spent last season as Russell Wilson’s backup. Davis will get the veteran minimum deal. I’m told this won’t end the team’s talks with Colin Kaepernick. Still in a holding pattern but not done.”

Davis has agreed to a one-year contract with the Seahawks, even though he has not thrown a pass since 2015.

Seattle and the Baltimore Ravens are the only teams that have expressed interest and come close to signing Kaepernick since he became a free agent.

Kaepernick went unsigned last season and his national anthem protest seems to be the continuous cause of his unemployment. He has sued the NFL claiming it’s owners colluded to keep him out of the league.

NFL owners and general managers from multiple teams have already given their opinions on Kaepernick’s collision case.

The leagues owners have said that the refusal to sign Kaepernick is not a collective decision, but one that is being made individually.
