The Oakland Athletics have made another trade, this time with a team outside the Bay Area.

According to a press release from the A’s, Milwaukee Brewers’ right-handed pitcher Lucas Erceg is Oakland bound. The Athletics are sending cash considerations to the Brewers as part of the deal.

This is the third trade the team has made this season. The first two involved the San Francisco Giants.

The 28-year-old righty was drafted in the second round of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft as an infielder before eventually converting to a pitcher.

“Erceg converted to the mound partway through 2021 and is 5-2 with a save and a 4.28 ERA in 46 games at the Triple-A level spanning 54.2 innings of work,” the press release reads. “Overall, he is 8-11 with a 5.07 ERA in 84 career minor league appearances. Before converting, Erceg spent five seasons splitting time between third base and first base. He hit .256 with a .735 OPS in 503 games.”

The release does not say whether Erceg will join the team in Oakland or one of the organization’s affiliates.
