Ramón Laureano did it again.

During a season of Oakland Athletics baseball shrouded in relocation drama and plenty of losing efforts, the veteran outfielder gave fans something to cheer about during Sunday’s game in Houston.

During the bottom of the second inning, Astros shortstop Jeremy Peña drilled a fastball from A’s starter James Kaprielian toward the right-center field gap. The ball continued to carry towards the wall, while Laureano could be spotted in the bottom right frame of the broadcast making his break for the catch.

It looked like the ball was going to sail over the fence, but then Laureano jumped back into the frame and pulled it back from over the wall for a fantastic catch.

Laureano’s catch kept Oakland and Houston tied at 0-0 as fans in attendance were stunned by the 28-year-old’s latest defensive heroics.

Whether it be an incredible throw from the center field wall or a wall-scaling grab, Laureano’s highlight reel of defensive expertise is one of the more notable aspects of the outfielder’s six-year career.

Although Laureano has struggled to hit the ball this season (.205 AVG, 5 HR), Sunday’s catch gave Oakland A’s fans a reason to cheer during a turbulent 2023 season.
