With the Oakland Athletics officially moving to Sacramento for the time being, what does that mean for the future of baseball in The California Capitol? Mayor Steinberg has some of the answers.

Mayor of Sacramento, Darrell Steinberg, joined “The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross” on Thursday to discuss the A’s decisions to move to Sutter Health Park for the next three seasons. Steinberg dives into how the process went and will now with the relocation, and why Sacramento was the final decision for MLB franchise. Plus, how does this affect the River Cats, Sacramento’s triple-a team affiliate of the San Francisco Giants.

All that and more on Sactown Sports.

“This conversation wouldn’t be happening if we hadn’t saved the Kings and if [owner Vivek Ranadive] and the Kings team had not built what they built here over these past 10 years. This is a a professional business, and they’re investing now in a growing and top-notch city and this is great for Sacramento. And believe me, it doesn’t hurt us when it comes to future sports opportunities,” Mayor Steinberg said. “You know, our future is boundless when it comes to sports.”
