Spring Training is right around the corner.
Football season is almost done, the holidays are way in the rearview mirror, and baseball is finally creeping back into everyday conversation. With report dates set, this isn’t some distant thing anymore. Spring Training is right around the corner.
The Giants get going early. Pitchers and catchers report on Tuesday, February 10, and the full squad shows up Sunday, February 15. That’s when you start seeing the first videos from Arizona — bullpen sessions, batting practice clips, guys talking about how different they feel this year.
It’s also when the real questions start getting some early answers. Who looks sharp? Who doesn’t? Who suddenly looks like they belong?

2026 Spring Training Report Dates
The A’s are right behind them. Their pitchers and catchers report on Wednesday, February 11, with the full team arriving on Monday, February 16. For Oakland, Spring Training always feels like an open tryout. There are young guys trying to make a name, veterans trying to hang on, and a lot of players who know this is their shot. You can feel that urgency in every game, even the meaningless ones.
Spring Training lies sometimes, but it still matters. It’s where jobs are won and lost, where rotations start to take shape, and where managers begin to show what they’re really thinking. For the Giants, it’s about finding some stability — in the lineup, in the rotation, and in the clubhouse. They’ve got pieces, but Spring Training is where you see if those pieces actually fit.
For the A’s, it’s about finding out who’s part of the future and who’s just passing through. Every at-bat feels louder. Every inning feels like an audition. That’s what makes their Spring Training so interesting — nobody can coast.
By mid-February, both teams will be fully in camp, and that’s when things really pick up. Games start showing up in the afternoon. Box scores start getting checked again. People swear they don’t care about Spring Training stats, but they always do.
And even with baseball around the corner, the offseason still isn’t totally done. There are still big names sitting out there. Kyle Tucker, Cody Bellinger, and Framber Valdez still don’t have teams. All it takes is one late signing to change a whole season before it even starts.
Workouts are almost here. The Giants and A’s are about to give us our first real look at what 2026 might be. And whether it ends up meaning everything or nothing, it’s the start of baseball being back in our lives again.
