The city of Henderson took to Twitter to publicize their deal with the Oakland Raiders. There has been approval for 55 acres of land for the team to build their corporate headquarters and practice facility.

Henderson mayor Debra March released a statement:

“This is a huge win for our community and we are so excited that the Raiders’ new home will be in Henderson […] This is a partnership that’s going to contribute to Henderson’s recognition as a premier community with some of the best lifestyle and business offerings in the nation and will give a big boost to our city’s economic development efforts.”

The project is supposed to bring around 250 full-time jobs for non-players and expected to increase the city’s tax base.

Henderson will also receive an advantage for future economic opportunities through their new deal with the Raiders. The team’s facility could generate about $14 million in property taxes to be invested in other Henderson priorities such as public safety and education.

The current expectations are that the Oakland Raiders’ new stadium in Las Vegas will be finished in 2020. This will also be when the team will likely make their move as well.
