Michael Crabtree Removed From Game To Take Concussion Test

When Oakland Raiders’ quarterback Derek Carr fumbled the ball out of the end zone, Raiders’ wide receiver Michael Crabtree was off of the field.
Crabtree was sent to undergo a concussion protocol late into the fourth quarter of Sundays’ game and was left on the sidelines to watch the fumble that costs the Raiders’ a potential overtime set or victory against the Dallas Cowboys.
According to Bleacher Report, Crabtree was “pissed off” they took him off the field because he claimed to be okay:
“It was the last play of the game, and I’m trying to win. It’s cool. I can’t do nothing about it. I’m still trying to figure out why they took me out.”
Perhaps Crabtree dismissed the fact that before being dismissed he fell to the ground on a deep pass attempt.
The attempt resulted in an pass interference call on Dallas Cowboys cornerback Jourdan Lewis.
In a post-game interview, Carr noted that the absence of Crabtree affected his team’s play call:
“We actually had a play called […] and then the refs made us take [Crabtree] out […] and then we had to change our call.”
The ultimate result was the costly fumble.
