With the All-Star break now in the rearview, Allen Stiles spent time giving grades to the Sacramento Kings players, coach, and front office for their respective efforts in their 28-27 record.

Of course, the recent trade deadline movement that sent De’Aaron Fox, Kevin Huerter, and others out in exchange for Zach LaVine, Jonas Valanciunas, and Jake LaRavia makes the conversation a bit nuanced.

Sitting at ninth in the NBA’s Western Conference, has deserving of a better grade than Keon Ellis? Domantas Sabonis, perhaps?

As many former and current NBA players were in San Francisco for this past weekend’s NBA All-Star event, former Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins made the trip to The Bay.

While there, with plenty of media around, he took part in a Q&A on Hoops Hype, where he discussed a wide variety of topics, including his thoughts on the Kings’ current state and their decision to move on from De’Aaron Fox at the trade deadline.

“Now, I get a lot of heat for speaking my opinion about the Kings or whatnot,” he told Hoops Hype. “But I just try to be as honest and truthful as I can through my own experience and just watching how things are handled now that I’m away from that. But I think De’Aaron Fox is a very special talent.”

When is the next Kings game?

The playoff push will begin on Friday night at Golden 1 Center when the Sacramento Kings face a familiar foe–the Golden State Warriors as both teams hope to climb the Western Conference standings.
