The Sacramento Kings will once again host the California Classic Summer League, which should be the first opportunity for fans to see whatever rookie they add with their 2026 NBA Draft Lottery pick.
On Wednesday, the team announced that it will once again partner with the Golden State Warriors to host the event, with a slightly different format this time.
Rather than teams having to move between Golden 1 Center and Chase Center, they will host different teams in each building. Let’s start by looking at the schedule for Sacramento.
The three-day tournament will take place from July 4-6, and will showcase the Sacramento Kings, Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks, and Golden State Warriors — all of which own lottery picks in the upcoming draft.
Looking to increase the pace of play, the event games will feautre 10 minute quarters with two games on each day.

“A highlight of the event will be the Battle of NorCal showdown between the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors at Golden 1 Center on July 5, where the Mitch Richmond Trophy will be awarded.”
While the Mitch Richmond Trophy is an entertaining subplot, getting the chance to see rookies on these teams in Sacramento is an intriguing opportunity. As mentioned, every team coming into G1C is expected to have a new lottery talent.
Sacramento has the 5th-best lottery odds, Brooklyn is 3rd, Milwaukee is 10th, and Golden State is 11th.
While the Kings are hosting those teams, Golden State will simultaneously have battles between the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, and San Antonio Spurs.
Naturally, the Las Vegas Summer League ends up stealing the show, but the first opportunity to see the Kings’ brand new lottery talent will be within Sacramento.
Plus, returning player such as Nique Clifford, Maxime Raynaud, and Dylan Cardwell could easily end up participating in the event as well.
