Now that the NBA’s trade deadline is in the rear-view mirror, teams around the league are turning their attention to the buyout market. And since the Sacramento Kings didn’t any big moves at the deadline, could they add someone from the buyout market?
The Athletic’s Sam Amick joined The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross to discuss the state of the Sacramento Kings as we enter the All-Star break, look back at the team’s uneventful trade deadline, and ponder what types of moves Monte McNair could look to make in the buyout market.
Topics Discussed:
- Is this Kings team reminiscent of the 1998-99 team that burst onto the scene as a perennial playoff contender?
- Were the Kings trying to be active behind the scenes during the trade deadline?
- Sacramento “has their board” of players that can help the team in the buyout market
- The Kings were very disappointed that they were unable to acquire forward Jarred Vanderbilt
- Sam says he was surprised that Sacramento wasn’t more active during the deadline
- Is there a rift between Los Angeles Lakers stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis?
- Could the Kings be a match for Kevin Love in the buyout market?
