Oakland just keeps on winning.

Coming into play on Tuesday afternoon, the Oakland Athletics were on an eight-game winning streak.

When the sun rises on Wednesday morning, the A’s will be the owners of a 10-game winnings streak.

You read that right.

The Oakland pitching was untouchable (almost literally), the bats were alive and the A’s won both games of a double-header against the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday afternoon to extend their impressive winning-streak to 10 games.

Mitch Moreland got the A’s on the board early, blasting his first home run of the season to give Oakland a 2-0 advantage in the bottom of the second-inning.

Moreland would go yard again in the fourth to give Sean Manaea (7 IP, 6 H, 0 R, 7 K) all of the run insurance that he would need and more before Matt Olson’s grand-slam later on in the inning blew the game wide open.

Olson’s blast off of the right-field foul pole would give the A’s a 7-0 lead–the eventual final score as Manaea would go the distance in the seven-inning first game of the double-header.

Manaea’s strong start must have made an impression on Jesus Luzardo, because the young lefty was dialed in during his Game 2 appearance.

The 23-year-old struck out six batters over 5.1 innings, allowing just two hits and allowing no runs in his strongest showing of the season.

“We’re on a wave and we’re just riding it,” Luzardo told the media postgame.

An RBI single from Seth Brown would be all of the offense that the A’s needed in Game 2, as Lou Trivino and Jake Diekman were called on in the sixth and seventh-innings to close the game out and give Oakland yet another win.

Per Martin Gallegos of MLB.com, the A’s recorded shutouts in both games of a doubleheader for the first time since Sept. 9, 1974 against the Royals at the Coliseum.

Oakland will look to increase their winning-streak to 11 games on Wednesday afternoon against the Twins with first pitch coming at 12:37pm PST. Frankie Montas will take the hill against Twins right-hander Kenta Maeda.
