KHTK is bringing former members of the Sacramento Kings on the air to reflect on their time in the purple and black, talk basketball and much more!

This week on “The Grant Napear Show with Doug Christie”, Grant and Doug had former Sacramento Kings guard and head coach Reggie Theus on the show to reflect on his time with the organization.

Theus, 62, was a two-time All-Star and averaged 18.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 6.3 assists over his 13-year career.

With the COVID-19 virus bringing the NBA season to a halt, Theus shared some of his thoughts on the recent developments.

“It’s a different world right now. You have to adapt,” Theus said. “I just hope that we can get ahead of it so that it doesn’t get incredibly worse.”

Theus, who played for the Kings during their tenure in Kansas City, scored the first basket in the inaugural game in Sacramento. Over four seasons with the Kings, Theus averaged 19.0 points, 3.4 rebounds and 8.2 assists per game.

During the move from Kansas City to California, Theus was unsure of what to expect when he arrived in the Capital city.

“Sacramento, it has come a long way,” Theus said of his former team. “What I didn’t know, and what we all know now, is how incredible the fans are. From day one, the fans have always been there. It turned out to be a great time in my life.”
