A former Pro Bowl tight end is calling it a career.
Delanie Walker has officially announced his retirement at the age of 38.
Walker was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in 2006, where he played seven seasons with the Red & Gold.
It wasn’t until he moved away from the Bay and landed in Tennessee that he broke out. From 2013 to 2019, his last official season in the NFL, Walker became a three-time Pro Bowler, recording 28 touchdowns and 4,423 receiving yards. His touchdown receptions record became, and still is, the most for a Titans tight end.
In a statement released by the Tennessee Titans, Walker said when he was drafted, he hoped he would play for eight years.
“Playing this game, I did it for so long, I am so thankful, Walker said. “Honestly, I wish I could have played more, but injuries took place and there you have it.”

For his career, Delanie Walker has recorded 504 receptions, 5,888 receiving yards, and 36 touchdowns. He now works with retired NFL players as part of the league’s Legends Community.
“I would say it worked out better than I could have imagined,” Walker said on Monday night. “I dreamt about it, and made it come to life because I believed it would. I knew once I had the opportunity, I wasn’t going to let it get away from me. Playing in Tennessee, with the Titans, it was better than I ever dreamed of, and I can’t thank the Titans organization enough for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to do everything I was able to do. It was a dream come true, to be honest with you.”
