The San Francisco 49ers should be heavily represented when the NFL’s Pro Bowl rosters are announced Wednesday night,

Fan voting ended on Christmas and on Wednesday, the NFL announced the Red & Gold led all teams in total votes from fans, resulting in 15 players leading their respective positions. Quarterback Brock Purdy led all players in fan votes with 451,864. Three of the top five vote-getters were from the 49ers. After Purdy came running back Christian McCaffrey (429,993 votes) and tight end George Kittle (373,750 votes).

A 49ers player leads their category for every offensive NFC position for Pro Bowl fan votes. On the defensive side, four players — Nick Bosa, Arik Armstead, Fred Warner and Charvarius Ward — led vote-getters.

According to the NFL, “player selections will be determined by the consensus votes of fans, players and coaches, with each group’s vote counting as one-third toward determining the all-star players who will be selected to this year’s Pro Bowl Games.”

The NFL’s Pro Bowl returns to Orlando, after spending the last three years in Las Vegas.
