Following a week of mass exodus, the 49ers will lose another defensive player this offseason in the form of defensive lineman Jordan Willis.

The Las Vegas Raiders announced the signing of the former 49er Monday, inking him to a reported one-year deal. The exact contract numbers have not been disclosed at this time.

Willis, 27, joined the 49ers, via trade in the middle of the 2020 season. Playing 26 regular-season games for the Red & Gold, the Kansas State alum was a consistent contributor in the second unit. His best season with San Francisco came in 2021, recording 15 combined tackles, five QB hits, three sacks and one forced fumble.

Willis will be remembered by The Faithful for his blocked punt against the Green Bay Packers in the 2021 NFC divisional round, leading to a 13-10 win at Lambeau Field.

From the Raiders’ official statement Monday:

Willis joins the Raiders after playing the past two seasons for the San Francisco 49ers (2021-22). Originally a third-round selection (73rd overall) by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2017 NFL Draft, Willis has played in 69 career games with two starts, posting 91 tackles (55 solo), 10.5 sacks, 15 tackles for loss, one pass defensed, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.

A native of Kansas City, Mo., Willis played collegiately at Kansas State from 2013-16, where he registered 114 tackles, 40.5 tackles for loss, 26 sacks and seven forced fumbles. As a senior, Willis was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, First-Team All-Big 12 and Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year.
