After two seasons away from the NBA, former Sacramento Kings forward Harry Giles III will be working out for several NBA teams in the coming days.

SNY’s Ian Begley reported on Friday that Giles has worked out for the Orlando Magic and New York Knicks this summer, with future workouts scheduled in front of the Golden State Warriors and Brooklyn Nets.

Giles is looking to return to the NBA after spending the past two seasons working on his lower-body health following a slew of knee injuries during his path to college and professional basketball.

The 25-year-old was selected out of Duke with the 20th pick in the 2017 NBA Draft by the Kings, although Giles did not make his debut until the 2018-19 season due to recovering from a prior knee injury.

Over 104 appearances (17 starts) with Sacramento during the 2018-2020 seasons, Giles averaged 7.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.4 assists while shooting 52 percent from the field.

Leading into the 2019-20 season, former Kings GM Vlade Divac declined Giles’ third-year option for 2020-21, freeing the forward up to sign with the Portland Trail Blazers. During 38 games with Portland, Giles played sparingly, averaging just 2.8 points over 9.2 minutes per contest.

Giles, the top high school prospect from the 2016 recruiting class, is looking for another shot at the NBA level following some time away. The former Blue Devil worked out in front of teams during Las Vegas Summer League in July and has been outspoken on social media about wanting another shot at the highest level.

As for a reunion with Sacramento, Giles even alluded to that possibility during this response to a post about free-agent options for the Kings.

Sacramento inked shot-blocking big man Nerlens Noel to a contract shortly following Giles’ tweet, but Kings fans could get a chance to see Giles in action next season for teams like the Warriors, Nets, Magic, or Knicks.

Regardless of what jersey Giles puts on next, one thing is certain: He will always have fans in Sacramento.

Giles sat court-side with Recee Fox, wife of De’Aaron Fox, for the Kings’ Game 7 matchup against Golden State on April 30th and was seen standing and cheering on his former teammates in hopes of upending the then-defending NBA champions.

Now, Giles will hope to be back on the floor once the 2023-24 season tips off in October.
