Former San Francisco Giants’ reliever, George Kontos, joined Sactown Sports Monday afternoon to talk about the MLB 2023 Home Run Derby, how the Giants are doing this season and the evolution of starting pitcher Logan Webb.
All that & more on Sactown Sports.
“When it’s time to get between those white lines, he really gets his game face on,” Kontos said on the show Monday. “He takes it seriously and he’s got that dawg in him. I mean, he’s got really good competitive instincts that you love to see. He reminds you of like a Matt Cain or a Madison Bumgarner taking [batters] out. So it’s really great to watch him, every fifth day, go about his business.”
Additional topics discussed include:
- George’s thoughts on the SF Giants’ 2023 season
- Thoughts on Logan Webb’s 1-0 shutout recently
- What is most impressive about Logan’s game?
- How is Luis Matos doing as a rookie?
- How do teams, like the Giants, bounce back from a poor start to the season?
- What is the current state of baseball from years past?
- Who’s winning the Home Run Derby?
