Although the San Francisco Giants suffered a 7-1 defeat in its series finale against the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday afternoon, things are trending upward for the orange and black.
San Francisco (24-25) has won seven of its past nine games while winning three-straight series against the Twins, Miami Marlins, and Philadelphia Phillies.
Thanks to some red-hot hitting from players like Michael Conforto, Thairo Estrada, and Casey Schmitt, the Giants’ offense has backed up a pitching staff that has posted a 2.81 ERA over the past nine games.

Alex Cobb has been San Francisco’s go-to arm this season, as the veteran right-hander holds a 4-1 record with a 2.17 ERA (fourth-best in MLB and second-best in the National League).
The Giants have won its past four games with Cobb on the mound, and they’ll hope that they can end their next series against the Milwaukee Brewers on a high-not when the 35-year-old takes the mound on Sunday in the four-game series finale.
Milwaukee (27-22) currently sits atop the National League Central after winning three of its past four games against American League powerhouses Houston and Tampa Bay over the past week.
San Francisco took two of three games from the Brewers earlier this month when the teams met at Oracle Park, with the Giants celebrating Willie Mays’ 92nd birthday during a 4-1 win on May 6th.
