While the Bay Bridge Series typically has plenty of juice when the San Francisco Giants and Oakland Athletics come face-to-face, this week’s edition will have some interesting storylines when the two teams meet at Oracle Park.

Tuesday will mark the start of a two-game set between these cross-Bay rivals, with San Francisco (54-47) currently reeling amid a six-game losing streak.

A matchup against the 74-loss Oakland A’s could provide the Giants a life-raft that can pull themselves out of a tailspin that has resulted in San Francisco falling 4.5 games behind the first-place Los Angeles Dodgers and out of the third National League Wild Card’s sole possession.

The A’s hold MLB’s worst record at 28-74 and have seven of its first ten games out of the All-Star break.

There have been some classic moments between these two teams in recent memory, with LaMonte Wade Jr.’s clutch go-ahead-two-run-blast in 2021 at the top of the list.

Since the start of the 2021 season, the Giants hold a 7-3 record against the A’s, including a 3-1 advantage for San Francisco in 2022.

Tuesday’s matchup between San Francisco and Oakland will also feature a protest similar to June 14th’s reverse boycott game at the Coliseum. A’s fans have asked Giants fans to “Unite The Bay” and protest the team’s expected move to Las Vegas, Nevada.

Fans will be handing out black “Sell” shirts and posters that say “Unite The Bay” with an image of a San Francisco and Oakland player shaking hands:

It’s shaping up to be an action-packed couple of days at Oracle Park–both on the field and in the stands.
