Greg Papa, longtime play-by-play broadcaster for the San Francisco 49ers, joined The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross Monday morning to preview the 49ers’ upcoming postseason matchup with the Green Bay Packers.
The trio started their conversation by diving into Green Bay’s previous playoff showdown against the Dallas Cowboys, where they managed a convincing road win.
“I thought it would be a shootout,” Greg Papa said. “I didn’t think it would be a blowout.”
Naturally, that led to what should be expected of the Packers coming into Levi’s Stadium on Saturday — and why he expects San Francisco are “going to do what they want to” on that end of the field.
For Greg Papa, it primarily concerns the middle of Green Bay’s defense being somewhat underwhelming. He mentioned that is where the Baltimore Ravens found success in their win over the 49ers, but the Packers do not possess similar caliber players in that aspect.
“I think the Niners are going to score,” he said. “Whether it’s 30, 40 or higher, I think they’re going to score.”
Given his exceptional football knowledge, they also dove into potential game plans for both teams. What coverages should be expected? Who are the key players for both sides? And plenty more throughout their conversation.
Other topics discussed include:
- Just how good is Jordan Love? His fundamentals are questionable, but the same was said about Patrick Mahomes
