Hunter Pence signs autographs with fans prior to Savanah Bananas game.

Hunter Pence, the two-time World Series champion with the San Francisco Giant, joined Sactown Sports Wednesday to talk about his recent visit to Sacramento.

This past weekend, Pence and former World Series champion Josh Reddick, joined the Savanah Bananas at Sutter Health Park. For those not familiar, the Bananas are like the Harlem Globetrotters of baseball with a lot of gimmicks and fan involvement throughout the game.

“If you love baseball, it’s so fun to bring your family to the Savanah Bananas games and it’s really fun as an old player to get a chance to go out there and have some fun,” Pence said.

Additional topics discussed include:

  • Tuesday night’s game and Patrick Bailey securing the win with a walk-off pick
  • His experience with the Savanah Bananas in Sacramento over the weekend
  • What it’s like to go through the MLB trade deadline as a player
  • Why the Giants maybe didn’t make any big moves at the trade deadline
  • Enjoying video games during his playing career and having many interests
  • Being able to appear on the Full House reboot Fuller House
