Former Sacramento Kings coach, general manager and broadcaster Jerry Reynolds joined Sactown Sports Friday to talk about the upcoming playoff series against the Golden State Warriors and why Davion Mitchell might be the key to the Kings slowing Steph Curry.
In round one of the NBA playoffs, the three-seeded Kings host the sixth-seeded Golden State Warriors. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 15, at the Golden 1 Center.
Topics discussed include:
- How do the Kings win this series?
- What does it feel like to finally see the team back in the playoffs?
- Will Mike Brown’s knowledge of the Warriors organization help or hurt the Kings?
- The best way to slow down Steph Curry
- “I kind of expect Davion Mitchell to play a little bit more. He can’t stop Steph, but he’s enough of a pest and is a great defender that you’ll see the Warriors be forced into making extra screens and things like that, which takes time off the clock, and maybe makes them make a tougher shot. It’s just going to be the little things that make a difference.”
- When was Arco Arena the loudest?
- Favorite moments during the playoff drought
