Chandler Jones is not expected to play in the Raiders Week 1 matchup against the Denver Broncos.
That’s according to head coach Josh McDaniels. Multiple times this week, Jones took to social media to air his grievances with the Raiders organization, McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler.
“I don’t expect Brandon Facyson or Chandler [Jones] to play this week,” McDaniels said.
When asked how the team has responded to this week’s news, McDaniels said they’re focused on their opponent.
“I think they’re focused on the competition that we have in front of us on Sunday and controlling what they can control,” McDaniels said. “We’ve had a really good week so far. Looking forward to a good day to day today, and I know they want to finish off the preparation the best that they can today. I’ve been very proud of just their approach in general and excited to see them play on Sunday, honestly.”
Before McDaniels spoke to the media, Jones posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, that he feels amazing.
Woke up feeling amazing this morning! Thank you God! 🙏🏿

If Jones is unable to go Sunday, rookie Tyree Wilson is listed behind him on the depth chart.
