NBC Sports California analyst and former Sacramento Kings forward Kenny Thomas joined The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross Wednesday morning to discuss life after the All-Star game, players acclimating to new teams and how the Kings should come out Thursday against the Portland Trail Blazers.

“Having a few days off and not actually touching a ball, you can be a little off,” Thomas said. “That’s why during the season, it’s not good for guys to have long stretches in between games. Coming back, it might take a couple of days, that’s why getting in the gym a couple of days before you actually play and getting up and down the court could be huge.”

Topics discussed include:

  • His experience in Salt Lake City during the NBA’s All-Star weekend
  • If players struggle to get back into rhythm after the All-Star break
  • Why he hopes the Sacramento Kings come out with a lot of energy Thursday against the Portland Trail Blazers
  • If the Kings have an advantage against the rest of the Western Conference because they didn’t make any major roster moves before the All-Star break.
  • What it’s like to be traded in the middle of the season. And how difficult is it for new players to be quickly acclimated to a new team?
  • The best trash talkers today and when Kenny played
