Sacramento Kings guard Kevin Huerter joined The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross on Thursday to talk about the team’s recent jump to second in the Western Conference, share what has been behind his improved shooting, share his thoughts on Harrison Barnes’ first technical foul in over a decade, and much more.

After shooting 29 percent from beyond the arc over 12 games in February, Huerter is shooting 17-of-29 (58%) from three over the past four games.

Huerter and the Kings will face the New York Knicks at Golden 1 Center on Thursday night in a game that TNT will nationally broadcast.

Topics discussed include:

  • Huerter says that he is trying to dunk more in games
  • Huerter talks about what it’s like to go head-to-head against players that try to get under your skin like Russell Westbrook, Dillon Brooks, and Patrick Beverley
  • The Kings loved seeing Harrison Barnes pick up his first technical foul since his rookie season
  • Kevin says that he will take the credit for getting Barnes to let the officials hear it
  • Sacramento has jumped into the second spot in the Western Conference standings
  • “We know where we are… We can’t relax. Job is still not finished.”
  • Has shifting to a zone defense helped the Kings lock in late?
  • Kevin talks about what has been working for him when it comes to coming out of his February slump
  • Previewing Thursday’s game against the New York Knicks
