“The Rock” Mitch Richmond is heading to All-Star weekend in Indianapolis.

The Sacramento Kings legend has been tapped as one of the hosts of the 2024 AT&T Slam Dunk contest. He’ll be joined by Gary Payton, Dominique Wilkins, Fred Jones, and Darnell Hillman as judges on Saturday, Feb. 17.

Participants for Saturday night’s event are defending champion Mac McClung of the G League’s Osceola Magic, Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics, Jaime Jaquez Jr. of the Miami Heat, and Jacob Toppin of the New York Knicks.

A six-time All-Star, Mitch Richmond was named the game’s MVP in 1995, the only time a Kings player has been named the NBA All-Star Game MVP. Representing Sacramento, he scored 22 points that night in Phoenix.

The Rock was no slouch when it came to dunks either. He may not have performed in the Dunk Contest, but Richmond knew how to throw down when he had an opening.

Upcoming schedule for the Sacramento Kings

  • NBA All-Star break – February 15-21
  • Thursday, February 22nd – Kings vs. San Antonio Spurs – 7 p.m.PST
