The Las Vegas Raiders are riding high on a two-game win streak, now set to add Jack Jones to an already talented defense.
Reports surfaced Tuesday afternoon that the Raiders had acquired the versatile cornerback off waivers, with the team confirming the news thereafter. To make room on the roster, Las Vegas released defensive end Isaac Rochell.
The move gives Jones a fresh start on the west coast after falling out of favor with the New England Patriots.

“Thank you Pats Nation and Pats organization,” Jack Jones said, via social media Tuesday. “I appreciated everything about the experience I had with the Pats. It’s love forever…new chapter…blessed to be a Raider.”
Jones, 25, was drafted by the Patriots in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He featured in 18 games for New England, contributing 42 combined tackles, two interceptions and one forced fumble in one and a half seasons. His role with the team became limited this season however, with the coaching staff citing attitude issues for the player.
In the end, both sides felt a change of scenery was needed for the talented cover-man. Jones had many suitors as well, with the Minnesota Vikings also putting in a waiver claim.
The Jones’ acquisition by Las Vegas reunites the player with coach Antonio Pierce. The current Raiders’ head coach spent time with the Los Angeles native at Long Beach Polytechnic, and at the collegiate level at Arizona State University. Now together in the NFL, Pierce will hope to get the best out of the CB under the umbrella of the new-look Raiders.
Las Vegas is 2-0 since Pierce took over for Josh McDaniels, beating the New York Giants and Jets on back-to-back weeks.
