MLB Spring Training 2024: Important dates to know for Giants, A’s

With the Super Bowl in our rearview mirror, that means we’re only days away from pitchers, catchers and players reporting for Spring Training.
Several teams have already seen pitchers and catchers report in the Cactus League in Arizona. Full squad workouts soon follow in the upcoming days with games taking off at the end of February.

When do pitchers and catchers report for the A’s & Giants?
Only two teams have seen their pitchers and catchers already report for Spring Training. The Los Angeles Dodgers first arrived in Arizona on Friday, Feb. 9. They were followed by the San Diego Padres on Sunday, Feb. 11. The two teams kick off Spring Training with the first game on Thursday, Feb. 22.
Of the Bay Area teams, the Oakland Athletics will welcome pitchers and catchers on Valentine’s Day. The next day, Thursday, Feb. 15, is when the San Francisco Giants get to town.
When does MLB Spring Training start?
Both the Giants and A’s hit the fields on Saturday, Feb. 24. The Athletics face off against the Colorado Rockies and the Giants take on the Chicago Cubs.
