The ‘Summer of Sell’ continued for Oakland Athletics fans on Tuesday night.

Following last week’s ‘Unite The Bay’ night at Oracle Park in San Francisco, A’s fans showed up in numbers at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles to make themselves heard during Oakland’s matchup against the Dodgers.

Much like the reverse boycott game on June 13th and last week’s ‘Unite The Bay’ game, “Sell the team” chants reverberated throughout the stadium and into people’s living rooms through the telecast on Tuesday in the latest showing of disdain for Oakland’s relocation to Las Vegas, Nevada.

During the top of the fifth inning, Athletics and Dodgers fans broke out in a chant that Los Angeles broadcasters couldn’t help but take note of.

“What you hear right now are chants of ‘sell the team’,” Dodgers play-by-play broadcaster Joe Davis said during the chants. “The ‘Summer of Sell’ continues for Oakland A’s fans. They are calling this reverse boycott everywhere they go. They are asking fans in every ballpark to join them in support.”

Tuesday’s game isn’t the first “Sell the team” chant-filled game that baseball fans have witnessed from Oakland Athletics supporters this season, and it surely won’t be the last.

The Oakland 68’s, a local group that has helped lead reverse boycotts and more during this relocation process, announced last week that their next protest will occur on Saturday, August 5th, when the San Francisco Giants travel across the Bay to play a two-game set at the Coliseum.
