The 2024 MLB Playoffs have reached the next stage as the ALCS and NLCS series begin this week. Here's what you need to know:

The MLB Playoffs are about to heat up as we reach the ALCS and NLCS!
Only four teams remain in the chase for a World Series title: the Cleveland Guardians, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, and New York Yankees.
Will we see another classic Fall Classic showdown between two historic franchises in the Dodgers and the Yankees? Could the first Subway Series since 2000 occur with both New York teams? Will Cleveland bring home a title for the first time in 75 years?

ALCS: (1) Yankees vs. (2) Guardians
Series begins Monday
The Yankees and Guardians are no strangers to one another when it comes to the postseason, especially in recent memory.
New York eliminated Cleveland in 2017 (best-of-five), 2020 (best-of-three), and 2022 (best-of-five), while the Guardians got the best of New York in 1997 (best-of-five) and 2007 (best-of-five), but this is the first seven-game series the two teams will have played since the extended playoff format was established in 1994.
Oddsmakers have the Yankees as the heavy favorites to clinch their first World Series berth since 2009, but an upstart Guardians offense and the best bullpen in baseball could give the Bronx Bombers a scare in this seven-game series.

NLCS: (1) Dodgers vs. (6) Mets
Dodgers lead series 1-0
Los Angeles started off the NLCS with a bang on Sunday by handing the Mets a 9-0 loss at Dodger Stadium.
New York has been on a roll this postseason, but that roll was brought to a complete halt as Dodger pitching held the Mets to just three hits en route to taking a 1-0 series lead.
There is still plenty of baseball left to be played, and for a matchup that will feature largely questionable starting pitching, New York could turn the series into a best-of-five scenario with a win on Monday night.
