Mudiay is expected to be available when the Kings face the Clippers on Wednesday night
The Sacramento Kings have signed veteran guard Emmanuel Mudiay to a 10-day contract via the NBA’s new COVID-19 hardship exception, per Adrian Wojnaroswki of ESPN.
Mudiay, 25, was the seventh-overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft and holds career averages of 11.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 0.7 steals on 40/32/74 shooting splits over five seasons.
After appearing in 54 games for the Utah Jazz during the 2019-20 season, Mudiay did not sign with a team prior to the 2020-21 season and has been playing with Žalgiris Kaunas of the EuroLeague this season.
According to Wojnarowski’s report, Muday is expected to be available for the Kings on Wednesday night when they face the Los Angeles Clippers at Golden 1 Center.
Sacramento is one of several teams to be ravaged by COVID-19 as seven players are currently in Health & Safety protocols. By signing Mudiay, the Kings add a veteran presence to a bench that has lacked experience during a three-game stretch without core rotation pieces.
