The Sacramento Kings 2026-27 season schedule features a home-heavy November, a brutal January and several difficult road stretches.

The Sacramento Kings’ 2026-27 season schedule has been fully released, allowing the opportunity to identify difficult stretches, notable matchups, key dates on their slate, and more.

As is standard, they’ll play all of their division opponents at least four times. They’ll also play every Eastern Conference Team twice, once at home and one away. While that’s true every season, the scheduling order tends to make a difference.

The Kings open the season on October 21st at Intuit Dome against the Clippers, then host Portland for their home opener on October 23rd. For the upcoming season, it seems to ramp up as the year goes along, which could be beneficial for rookie cornerstone point guard Darius Acuff Jr.

Here are four takeaways from the Sacramento Kings’ 2026-27 season schedule.

1. Home-Heavy November

November is the first full month of the schedule after six October games against the Clippers, Trail Blazers, Grizzlies (x2), Spurs, and Pelicans. Aside from San Antonio, that’s a fairly easy early schedule for Sacramento before heading into a home-heavy November.

Eleven of the Kings’ 14 games that month will be at home. That includes a season-long seven-game home stretch from November 4 to November 18, during which they’ll host the Lakers, Spurs, Heat, Magic, Trail Blazers, Thunder, and Suns. The remainder of the month features just two road games (Lakers, Warriors) and four more home showings.

Not having to leave the state of California for nearly 30 consecutive days should be a benefit, even if the matchups don’t appear favorable.

The NBA Cup begins that month as well, where the Kings have been placed in West Group C with the Lakers, Warriors, Spurs, and Trail Blazers.

2. Rough January

Sacramento’s schedule evens out at the start of 2027, with plenty of road games and consecutive battles. Ten of their 17 January games will be on the road, but their only Eastern Conference travel will come at the end of the month.

The real struggles come in the form of five back-to-backs during that stretch.

Rest advantage plays a big part in plenty of games throughout an 82-game season, and it seems like January could be a month where it feels like Sacramento is always dealing with a disadvantage. Perhaps it’s a place to watch for Acuff, Alex Karaban, and potentially Emanuel Sharp hitting a rookie wall? Extended road trips will be a notable difference for them compared to the collegiate seasons they’re accustomed to.

Approaching the All-Star break by that time, it could be the month where the Kings make their placement in the West obvious.

The end of January also brings a five-game road trip, their first of two such trips.

3. The Longest Road Trips

The end of that tough January stretch features a five-game road trip to Los Angeles, Denver, Philadelphia, Washington, and Detroit. As mentioned, the Washington matchup will be on the second night of a back-to-back after facing off against LeBron James’ new team.

That ties the mark for their longest road trip of 2026-27, with the other featuring a trip to knock off most of the other Northeast opponents in mid-March. From March 16th-22nd, the Kings will play in Boston, New York, Toronto, Brooklyn, and Chicago. The backend of that trip is notably easier than the start, but being days into a road trip by then never helps. It’s only more difficult when you factor in the two back-to-backs, which have them playing five games in seven nights.

Following that trip, only 10 games remain on the regular season schedule. If Sacramento is somehow fighting for a play-in spot, surviving that road trip could prove essential.

4. Key Matchups To Circle

Returning faces always increase the already electric atmosphere inside the Golden 1 Center. Among former players and coaches, or the lone appearance in Sacramento for stars of the game, are some of the first things noted when a new schedule appears.

De’Aaron Fox will be back in California’s capital on Nov. 6 as the Spurs and Kings battle in an NBA Cup matchup. His former backcourt partner, Tyrese Haliburton, and the Pacers make the trip later in the year on Feb. 17.

Of course, there’s also former head coach Mike Brown leading the defending champion New York Knicks, who come to Sacramento on Jan. 8. Here are a few of the key home games the Kings have in 2026-27.

What is the next Sacramento Kings Offseason Event?

The start of the 2026-27 season is quickly approaching for Darius Acuff Jr. and the Sacramento Kings.

Sacramento will begin training camp in late September as they prepare to begin preseason play on Monday, October 5th when they face Luka Doncic and the new-look Los Angeles Lakers at Golden 1 Center.
