Darius Acuff Jr. is only seven games into his NBA career, but the Sacramento Kings rookie is already putting himself in some pretty remarkable company.
Acuff recorded 25 points, five rebounds, and six assists in Monday’s 115-100 win over the Dallas Mavericks, extending his streak to three consecutive games with at least 25 points, five rebounds, and five assists.
He’s the first NBA rookie to do that since Luka Doncic in 2019 and just the second Kings rookie to do it, joining Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson, who did it during the 1960-61 season.
Acuff is also one of just 10 rookies in NBA history to put together three consecutive 25-5-5 games.
That list includes Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Rick Barry, Larry Bird, Doncic, Allen Iverson, Larry Johnson, Michael Jordan, Mitch Richmond, and Robertson, per Jason Anderson.
That’s some pretty good company for a teenager who is still getting his feet wet at the NBA level.
Darius Acuff Jr. is the 1st rookie with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in 3 consecutive games since Luka Doncic in 2019.
He is the 2nd Kings rookie to do so, joining Oscar Robertson in 1960-61. https://t.co/nLLMuxXKtq

More on Darius Acuff Jr.
What’s particularly encouraging for Sacramento is how Darius Acuff Jr. has gotten here.
His first NBA appearance was a struggle. He shot just 5-for-24 from the field in the season opener against the Clippers, finishing with 12 points. But his shot-making has steadily improved since then.
Acuff shot 38% against Portland, 39% against Memphis, and 40% against San Antonio before putting together two much more efficient performances against New Orleans and Memphis.
He went 13-for-26 against the Pelicans for 34 points, then followed that with 12-for-25 shooting and a career-high 38 points against the Grizzlies on Halloween.
Through seven games, Acuff is averaging 26.1 points on 40.6% shooting from the field. He’s also shooting 31.3% from three-point range, a number with room to improve–but one that shows progress after a difficult start from beyond the arc.
After starting the season shooting 34% from the field and 20% from three-point range over his first four games, Acuff has upped those numbers to 48% and 42% over his past three contests, all while averaging 32.3 points.

The playmaking has been another encouraging development.
Acuff is averaging 6.3 assists per game and has already shown he can take on a significant responsibility as a facilitator.
The seventh-overall pick in June’s NBA Draft dished out 14 assists against New Orleans and has recorded at least five assists in five of his seven appearances, leading the 2026 rookie class with 6.3 assists per game.
There will be growing pains, and Acuff still has plenty to clean up. He’s averaging 3.6 turnovers per game and hasn’t found consistent efficiency from three-point range.
But the early returns are difficult to ignore.
The Kings desperately needed a young player to emerge as a building block, and Darius Acuff Jr. is giving them plenty of reasons to believe they may have found one.
