March Madness Sacramento: Which Women’s teams are coming to Golden 1 Center?

March Madness Sacramento will bring some of the best teams in women’s college basketball to Golden 1 Center as the NCAA Division I Women’s Tournament regional rounds arrive in Northern California.

Sacramento will host the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight from March 27–30, with eight teams advancing to compete for a spot in the Final Four.

The regional rounds feature teams that advance through the first two rounds of the tournament. Among the top programs in the Sacramento region are several nationally ranked teams, including UCLA, Vanderbilt, Duke, and Ohio State on one side of the bracket, along with Texas, Iowa, Oklahoma, and Michigan State on the other side.

Teams slated for the Sacramento regional, contingent on advancing past the opening rounds:

• (1) UCLA Bruins

• (2) Vanderbilt Commodores

• (3) Duke Blue Devils

• (4) Ohio State Buckeyes

and

• (1) Texas Longhorns

• (2) Iowa Hawkeyes

• (3) Oklahoma Sooners

• (4) Michigan State Spartans

The Sweet 16 will feature two regional semifinal games, followed by the Elite Eight matchup that determines which team advances to the Final Four. Sacramento is one of only two cities hosting these rounds of the 2026 tournament, along with Fort Worth, Texas.

Hosting March Madness Sacramento once again places the city at the center of the women’s college basketball postseason. The Golden 1 Center has become a frequent host for major sporting events, and the NCAA tournament will bring thousands of fans to downtown Sacramento to watch championship-caliber teams compete for a national title.
