UC Davis’ Angelo Genetti Earns Big Sky Scholar Athlete Honors

Angelo Genetti has earned Big Sky Scholar Athlete honors following a strong 2024 season on the field serving time as the UC Davis football place kicker and in the classroom leading the Aggies academically.

Genetti is a two-time Big Sky All-Academic honoree and over the past three seasons as an Aggie Genetti has seen action in 22 games. From 2023-24 Genetti made 21 appearances collecting 7,086 kickoff yards on 115 attempts for a two-season average of 61.6 kickoff yards per game.

To be eligible for this award, the student-athlete must have exhausted his or her intercollegiate athletic eligibility and/or be a member of the graduating class, earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 (on a 4.0) scale, been a participant in a Big Sky-sponsored sport, completed at least two (2) years of intercollegiate competition at the institution, and been a letter winner.

No. 11 UC Davis football’s Rex Connors (first team), Winston Williams (second team), Hunter Ridley (second team) and Porter Connors (third team) have all been named Football Championship Series Preseason All-Americans as part of the STATS Perform FCS preseason award announcements.

Rex returns to the list having been named a 2024 All-American following his record-breaking season that saw him set the single-season program record in solo tackles while earning Associated Press, American Football Coaches Association, and FCS Football Central All-American honors. The Aggie defensive back finished with a record-breaking 74 solo tackles, finishing with a total tally of 115 on the season.

Williams, who was named the second-best returning tight end in the nation by HERO Sports, was a 2024 First Team All-Big Sky Conference honoree and he ended the season leading all Big Sky tight ends in touchdown receptions and he finished second in the nation for most receiving touchdowns by a tight end.

When the 2024 season came to an end, Williams had racked up career numbers, finishing with 265 receiving yards on 34 receptions, snagging six touchdowns while averaging 19.0 yards per game.
