Before the start of last season, Darren Waller and the Raiders agreed to a three-year contract extension. The extension included $51 million in new money.

The tight end only played in nine games for the Raiders in 2022, limited by injuries throughout the season. Last season, he only caught 28 receptions for 388 yards and three touchdowns. His best year with the Raiders was 2020, where he caught 107 receptions for 1,196 yards and nine touchdowns.

This apparently isn’t the first time the Raiders tried to move Waller. Last year, ESPN reported the Green Bay Packers made an attempt at acquiring Darren Waller at the NFL’s trade deadline. The report added the Packers also tried to get Waller in the Davante Adams deal last spring.
