The Oakland Athletics will play in Las Vegas next season.

After their relocation bid was unanimously approved by owners early in November, the A’s will play two Spring Training games at their potential home after 2024.

As part of Big League Weekend 2024, the A’s will face off against the Milwaukee Brewers at the Las Vegas Ballpark, the home of the Las Vegas Aviators, the Athletics’ Triple-A affiliate. The games are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, March 8 and 9.

Aviators President/COO Don Logan said in a press release he’s excited to bring back Big League Weekend to Las Vegas.

“We welcome our major league affiliate, the Oakland Athletics, back for a third visit to Las Vegas Ballpark for Spring Training games,” Logan said in the press release. “This will mark Milwaukee’s first visit back to Las Vegas since 1999. Las Vegas Ballpark will once again provide an outstanding atmosphere and environment for Major League Baseball. Fans, both locals and tourists that visit during this event, will have a memorable time.”

The A’s plans to build a $1.5 billion, nine-acre stadium where the Tropicana Hotel currently stands in Sin City. The ballpark and organization were granted $380 in public funding for construction earlier this year. But, the earliest projections for when the stadium could open is not until 2028, three years after the A’s lease at the Oakland Coliseum expires after the 2024 season.
