Sean O’Connell, SiriusXM Pac-12 radio host, joined Watkins & Whitey with Zakariah to explain what has happened with the Pac-12 that’s caused it to be on the verge of extinction. Unsurprisingly, money was a key factor in its ongoing downfall. The complications behind the specific numbers were dissected and discussed between Sean, Watkins, and Zakariah.
O’Connell explained why the timing of it adds to the disappointment. Head coach Deion Sanders has turned Colorado football into one of the most viewed teams on any given weekend. And reigning Heisman Trophy winner USC’s Caleb Williams is projected to be the number one pick in the next NBA draft.
After the obvious inclusion of Williams, O’Connell ranked his current top-three Pac-12 quarterbacks. Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders made the list on the back of his game-winning drive against Colorado State, along with Washington’s Michael Penix Jr.
Other topics discussed include:
- Four of the nation’s ten best quarterbacks are in the Pac-12
- The specifics of the conference’s financial complications
- O’Connell: “There’s no reason other than money”
- Would conversations have been different if Sanders had been in Colorado last season?
- Why Utah vs. UCLA is the most intriguing Pac-12 matchup this weekend
- The upcoming fight between Jon ‘Bones’ Jones and Stipe Miocic
