The San Francisco 49ers learned who they’ll play early in Wildcard Weekend when the Green Bay Packers upset the Dallas Cowboys 48-32 Sunday.
Aaron Jones and the Packers scored first and often, racking up 27 unanswered points. Dallas finally got on the scoreboard in the final seconds of the first half behind a Brandon Aubrey field goal. The Cowboys would add another field goal and a Tony
Tony Pollard touchdown in the third quarter.
The Cowboys made it interesting in the fourth, scoring two touchdowns to bring them within 16 of Green Bay, but that was all America’s Team could muster against the Packers.
With the win, Green Bay becomes the first number-seven seed to win an NFL playoff game. Dallas extends its streak of not making the NFC Championship to 29 years.

The time and date between the 49ers and Packers has not yet been announced by the league.
San Francisco and Green Bay are no strangers when it comes to postseason matchups. Since 1996, the 49ers hold a 5-4 over the Packers in the playoffs. The last time the two teams met in the postseason, in 2022, the Red & Gold squeaked past the Cheeseheads 13-10. The 49ers would go on to lose in the NFC Conference Championship 20-17 to the eventual Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams.
Upcoming schedule for the San Francisco 49ers
- January 13-14 – NFL Playoffs (Wild Card Round) – BYE
