Awards continue to fall for San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey.
On Wednesday, the Pro Football Writers of America [PFWA] announced McCaffrey as their 2023 Offensive Player of the Year. The PFWA also named Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson as their Most Valuable Player and Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett as the Defensive Player of the Year.
Despite not playing the final game of the year, McCaffrey ended the 2023 season as the NFL’s rushing leader with 1,459 yards. He becomes only the second 49ers player to receive the award and the first running back honored since Todd Gurley in 2017.
