The Major League Baseball regular season doesn’t feel like it’s started until the San Francisco Giants face the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Fresh off a season-opening four-game split with the San Diego Padres, the Giants (2-2) will head to Los Angeles on Monday night and begin a three-game set against the rival Dodgers (4-2) in Southern California.
In 2023, Los Angeles narrowly won the season series (7-6), but San Francisco hopes to turn the tables in 2024 after bringing in several notable players in free agency.
Of course, the Dodgers know a thing or two about acquiring star talent in free agency, as the Giants will face reigning MVP slugger Shohei Ohtani for the first time in blue and white.
After suffering a 13-4 defeat in San Diego on Sunday, San Francisco will send rookie right-hander Keaton Winn to the mound on Monday. He will face veteran lefty James Paxton, who will be making his Dodgers debut.
